California Regional Center Vendor & Self-Determination Program
1.5-hour 1-to-1 adaptive surf lessons beginning with an individualized participant assessment. Using the Flow Method™, coaching is structured to support functional development, safety, and independence through consistent routines and progressive skill building aligned with IPP goals. Flow Wave Warriors Academy is an approved vendor with California Regional Centers and serves Self-Determination Program participants.

Year round surf camps for individuals with diverse abilities. Limited to 8 surfers per session, the camp offers personalized instruction from certified adaptive surf coaches, specialized equipment, and a high instructor-to-surfer ratio. With a focus on safety, confidence, and community, participants build independence, develop new skills and form lasting friendships in a supportive beach environment.
Private Lessons
Designed for neurotypical participants, these private one-on-one lessons are guided by coaches whose deep experience working with adaptive athletes brings a higher level of patience, awareness, and intention to every session.
Private one-on-one surf lessons offer a deeply personal experience rooted in FWWA’s belief that surfing can transform lives. Each session is intentionally shaped around the individual, meeting them exactly where they are in their surfing journey. With patient, highly experienced coaches providing hands-on guidance, participants build confidence, develop strength, and learn proper technique in a safe and supportive environment. Beyond skill-building, these lessons foster independence, self-awareness, and a meaningful connection to the ocean that extends far beyond the waves.
Group Lessons & Corporate Experiences

Group surf lessons and corporate surf sessions offer an unforgettable shared experience that blends adventure, mindfulness, and teamwork. Whether for friends, families, or company teams, each session focuses on building confidence, communication, and connection in a supportive ocean environment. FWWA’s expert coaches guide participants through ocean safety, surf fundamentals, and wave-riding techniques while fostering a sense of unity and purpose. Every session leaves participants recharged, inspired, and more connected to themselves, their team, and the sea.
Flow Wave Warriors offers individualized and group surf programs for neurodiverse and neurotypical individuals, school groups, and anyone seeking the healing benefits of surfing. Programs are currently offered in Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Pismo Beach, California. With over 25 years of experience working alongside the neurodiverse community, our approach goes far beyond standing up on a wave it’s about connection, confidence, and personal growth in and out of the water.
Beyond our adaptive sessions, Flow Wave Warriors also provides corporate retreats, team-building experiences, and wellness programs, all rooted in the science and soul of surfing. Every session is intentionally designed to build confidence, foster connection, and inspire personal transformation through the power of the ocean.
Our surf coaches complete CPR and AED certification, severe bleeding control training, water rescue training, and DOJ Live Scan background checks. This comprehensive preparation allows us to create a safe, supportive, and empowering surf environment for every participant.

Research Update: Building a Gold-Standard Surf Safety Program with Ventura Surf Lessons & Erik Flores
Flow Wave Warriors Academy (FWWA) is developing a co-designed Surf Safety Protocol win partnership with Ventura Surf Lessons, owned by Erik Flores. With over 27 years of ocean experience Erik brings exceptional rescue expertise to the program. A Fire Academy graduate, Nationally Registered and California-certified EMT, lifeguard, and Professional Rescuer, Erik also serves as a Set Medic and Open Water Rescue specialist in the Motion Picture Industry. His advanced training and on-site rescue readiness help FWWA establish a gold-standard safety model.
Expanding: Adaptive Surfing in California’s Central Coast
Flow Wave Warriors Academy (FWWA) has successfully expanded its surf program to California’s Central Coast. Through a new partnership with Shell Beach Surf Shop, Flow now provides private adaptive surf lessons in Pismo Beach extending its mission to empower individuals of all abilities through the healing power of the ocean.
